Master Grand Premier Labelinka’s Willow The Wisp C.N.W. (1993-2011)

I fell in love with the Balinese breed because of Master Grand Premier Labelinka’s Willow The Wisp. Willow was everything that a Balinese should be, loving, cuddly, generous, intelligent, athletic, social, talkative, and gentle. If my kittens are even half as great as Willow I will have done well. Six months after Willow came Master Grand Premier Labelinka’s Sir Duncan C.N.W. I had a lot of fun showing both of the boys encouraged by my mentors Madge and Bill Turner.

In 1993 I acquired Labelinka’s Lady Lilas of Balilas and started my own cattery. The name Balilas is a combination of Balinese and Lilas (silent s). Lilas is French for Lilac which is her colour. Lilas passed recently at the age of 18. Lilas slept every night in my bed and spent time helping raise her grand kittens.

Lilas was Balilas founding Queen. Because Lilas was a natural at shows and maintained her condition so well she was able to be shown between litters of kittens. Lilas was a five time award winner of Best Balinese C.C.A while raising many wonderful kittens. She was in such wonderful shape after retiring from Motherhood that I brought her back to the show circuit as an Alter where she ended her outstanding show career as Supreme Master Grand Premier with a national award at age thirteen!
